Empties August 2016

I know this post is super late, sometimes life gets in the way and suddenly it’s three weeks later than I thought it was! Sorry if it seems irrelevant now, but I’m going to post it anyway because I’m pretty excited about how much product I managed to burn through.

empties-august-2016

I’ve got a solid mix of body care, skin care and makeup this month and there’s a ton of different stuff to get through, so I’m still going to give you mini-reviews and my thoughts on all these products but I’m going to keep it short.

May Favourites 2016

It’s the end of the May already?! I’m not ready, give me more time. May was so busy that I barely noticed it had gone by: I ended my uni, had rehearsals for a play, travelled backwards and forwards around the country, it’s been hectic! In the midst of all that, I found myself using mostly the same beauty products day after day and didn’t really get excited about many of them. However, one or two things managed to sneak through and impress me.

May Favourites 2016

The products that I chose as my favourites this month are pretty basic, but they’ve been staples in my everyday routine.

Huge Makeup Revolution Haul April 2016

It’s been far too long since since I last had a big old Makeup Revolution haul (you can see it here). It feels long overdue! Since my 3 month no-buy just ended and I needed to pick up a few bits, I thought I’d take advantage of the great offer they had – spend £30 and get a mystery bag containing £25 worth of products for free. That’s too good to refuse!

Huge Makeup Revolution Haul April 2016

As you probably know, Makeup Revolution is available in many drugstore type stores around the world (Superdrug here in the UK), but their website, which ships internationally, has all the best deals!

This is going to be a pretty long post, so grab a snack and a drink and we’ll get to the good stuff!

Cohorted Beauty Box Black Editon: January 2016 Review

I can’t believe it’s only been a month since the last Cohorted beauty box! It feels like forever. I need my fix of higher end beauty products! Since last month’s box was so ridiculously amazing, I’ve been eagerly awaiting the arrival of box.

Cohorted Beauty Box Black Edition January 2016

The Black Edition Beauty Box from Cohorted is £35 per month and contains 4-5 full sized high-end and luxury beauty products, with the occasional extra sample thrown in for good measure. They feature brands such as Cargo, Too Faced, bareMinerals and Nars to name a few, and the value always far outweighs the cost of the box. I’m never disappointed. You can find more information or subscribe here

Without further ado, let’s dig in …

Blogger Beauty Box December 2015 Review

As you may know, if you’ve been here for a while, I love the Blogger Beauty Box. It is, hands down, the best beauty box you can get your hands on for a tenner. No crappy little one-time use foil samples, no products that make you think ‘Why would I want THAT?!’, just full sized, quality goodies. That’s probably because it was created by a blogger. Vix Meldrew to be exact – and she knows her stuff. You should check out her blog here, she’s absolutely pants-wettingly hilarious.

When this month’s box arrived, I couldn’t believe my eyes. It was enormous! That could only mean one thing, there must be lots of full sized treats inside!

Cohorted Beauty Box Black Edition: December 2015 Review

Cohorted Beauty Boxes are one of the most exciting beauty boxes around, especially for me. It’s a chance to try a ton of high end products without completely breaking the bank (see last month’s box here). This month’s box is even more exciting as it’s a collaboration with blogger Michelle from Thou Shalt Not Covet – spoiler alert – she’s done an amazing job curating this box!

Anyway, that’s enough of that. Let’s dig in to the goodies!

Make Up Kits For Beginners

I didn’t know what to call this post for two reasons. 1. These aren’t really kits.  It’s more like one larger kit broken down into smaller ones that you can create different looks with. 2. I don’t like calling people beginners. It implies I think I know a lot about something, which I don’t.

Make Up Kits For Beginners

What this post is really about is the essential products you need to create the type of look you’re going for. Whether that’s super natural, a little jazzed up or dramatic. I’ve got a collection of (mostly very affordable) products  to share with you to help you achieve those looks. I’ll also be showing you what they look like on to give you a better of how it’ll look on you.

Let’s get started…

Freedom Makeup Pro Blush & Highlighter Palette in Peach Spice & Medium Contour Review and Swatches

Sorry for the super long title, but this palette has a ridiculously long name! You may remember, in my most recent Freedom Makeup Haul, I briefly skimmed over this palette.

Pro Blush Highlight Peach Spice Medium Contour

It contains everything you need to create a full cheek look (if that’s even a thing). It has a bronzer, a highlight and 4 blushes (one of the could double as a highlight depending on your skin tone). The fact it has all of these products makes it ideal for travel. It hasn’t been released yet, but when it is released, it will be only £6 – working out at only £1 a shade! Bargain!

Let’s look in more detail…

Dusty Girls Make Up Swatches and Review

As you may know, I won an amaaazing prize at the Bloggers Unite Event the other week. Part of this prize was the entire range of Dusty Girls make up. You read the right, the ENTIRE range. As in, every single product they make. That’s crazy! Obviously, I was ridiculously excited to try everything. And at this point I have tried almost everything and I thought I’d tell you what I think about them. The only products I haven’t tried are the Earth Cream and Mineral Foundation (which were not my particular shade of pasty white) and the mascara (because I don’t need to open a new one).

Dusty Girls is an Australian brand, created by the same company that makes Moogoo. Their products are all-natural, technically edible (although I’d recommend eating actual food over cosmetics any day) and cruelty free. Although they’re based on Australia, they ship worldwide and you can find them here.

This is all the stuff I’ll be talking about:

Cohorted Beauty Box – June 2015 Review

It’s that time again, my June Cohorted Beauty Box arrived today! It was really difficult to get hold of again this month, the site kept crashing – it was stressful. That should be fixed for next month as Cohorted are working on improving the site.

The Cohorted Beauty Box is released monthly, but it is not a subsciption, you have to order it each month. It costs £20 and usually contains around 4 mid-to-high-end products, giving it a far higher value than the price. You can find it on cohorted.co.uk . All items in the boxes, plus more are available on their website, at a price lower than the RRP. Last month’s box was a real winner, so this month’s has a lot to live up to! Let’s crack open the box and see what’s inside!
