After last month’s triumphant offering, I couldn’t wait for this month’s Cohorted box to arrive. The last few boxes have been pretty fantastic, so my expectations were really high. With summer fast approaching, I was expecting an equally summery box to match, maybe some tan, some gloss, some travel friendly items – the usual.
The Black Edition Beauty Box from Cohorted is a £35 per month subscription and contains 4-5 full sized high-end and luxury beauty products, with the occasional extra sample thrown in for good measure. They feature brands such as Cargo, Too Faced, bareMinerals and Nars to name a few, and the value is always incredible. I’m never disappointed. You can find more information or subscribe here.
When I collected together all the stuff I’d finished in the last month, I was floored. I’ve used up so many products which can mean only one thing, I’ve got lots of bite-sized reviews up my sleeve! Some products I loved and some, well . . . not so much, but we’ll get to that later.
As I do in all my empties posts, I’ll give a little run-down of each product and tell you whether or not it’s worth your time (BUY or BYE).
One thing I’ve always struggled with is my teeth. After having a fair few removed as a small child, then knocking half of one off as soon as they grew back in, I never had much luck. I then had braces for 3 years and was finally happy with how they sat in my mouth. However, I still wasn’t completely happy. The colour of them has always annoyed me. Despite my best efforts to take care of my teeth and use whitening toothpastes and mouthwashes, they were still kind of yellow.
At the Steel City Blog Meet, I was gifted a White Glo Diamond Edition whitening kit. It’s one of the products I’ve often thought about buying but always ended up leaving behind. It’s peroxide free, quick and easy and you get more than enough product for several courses of treatment.
You can usually pick this kit up for around £15 at Boots, which is very reasonable for an at home whitening kit. In the box, you get a silicone tray, a tube of whitening gel and a free tube of extra-strength whitening toothpaste to use alongside it. The amount of product is very generous and can provide up to 35 applications, up to 7 courses of whitening treatment. Continue reading
It’s the end of the May already?! I’m not ready, give me more time. May was so busy that I barely noticed it had gone by: I ended my uni, had rehearsals for a play, travelled backwards and forwards around the country, it’s been hectic! In the midst of all that, I found myself using mostly the same beauty products day after day and didn’t really get excited about many of them. However, one or two things managed to sneak through and impress me.
The products that I chose as my favourites this month are pretty basic, but they’ve been staples in my everyday routine.
