You know what, I really enjoyed March. That may or may not have something to do with the chocolate induced food-high I’m currently experiencing. Of course, there’s more to life than chocolate (sometimes) and there have been a few occasions this month where I’ve had to look and feel good all day. My favourite products this month have been ones which help me do exactly that!
It’s all skin care and make up this month because when I want to look my best, that’s what I focus on. If I’m honest, I’m pretty lazy with my hair – it’s a good job messy buns are in!
Anyway, onto the products…
It’s been a hot minute since my last TesterKorea Haul and I was starting to run desperately low on my all-time favourite kbeauty staple: the sheet mask. If you’re unfamiliar with sheet masks, you’re missing out, big time. As the name suggests, they’re a face shaped ‘sheet’, usually cotton, soaked in serum. You pop it on, wait 15 minutes, then throw it away. Easy. No messy mud to spread across your face, no crumbly bits, just easy peasy skincare. In my opinion, the best ones are made by Korean companies – they know their stuff. Have you ever seen a Korean woman’s skin? Flawless. The stuff of dreams. Any way, the easiest and cheapest place I’ve found to purchase Korean sheet masks is TesterKorea.
Postage can be a little pricey and it can take between 2-4 weeks to arrive in the UK. That’s the price you pay for ordering from the other side of the world. I’ve found it’s most economical to place one big order rather than several smaller ones. So, naturally I ended up with OVER 50 MASKS. To be honest, that’ll probably only last me about 3-4 months.
Let’s get in to my picks!
Today is March 18th 2016. That means I’ve had this little corner of the internet for a whole year. A YEAR. It’s gone by so quickly. It’s honestly one of the best things I’ve ever done. I’ve met some amazing people, made great friends, learnt so much and had experiences I never would have otherwise. Best of all, I’ve been able to bang on about beauty and make up and people have actually cared enough to listen. That’s awesome.
To mark such a momentous occasion, I thought it was only fitting that I do a giveaway! I’ve got together a little assortment of some of my all time favourite make up and beauty products, ready for one of you to receive. I can vouch for everything I’ve include, they’re my best of the best!
There will be one winner. That lucky individual will receive:
theBalm Nude ‘Tude Eyeshadow Palette: This is without a doubt one of my favourite palettes. It has everything from your everyday neutral looks to something a little bit sexier and smokier. I’ve got a full review of this palette including swatches here. (Just to be clear, the winner will get a brand new palette, not the one I’ve had my grubby little fingers in.)
theBalm Put A Lid On It Primer: If you’re going to get eyeshadow, you’re going to need a base! I use this primer at the moment and it works really well. My eyeshadow lasts all day and doesn’t crease.
Pixi Mattelustre Lipstick in Plump Pink: A pretty, moisturising lipstick in a colour that’s perfect for any occasion. As much as I would have loved to include a bright purple lipstick, I know it’s not for everyone. Hopefully this neutral beauty will be to your taste.
A Selection of Foodaholic Sheet Masks: If you’ve been around for a while, you know sheet masks are my kryptonite. I’m addicted. They’re a super quick, easy way to give your skin a little pick me up and boost of nutrition. I love these ones because they’re specially shaped to fit better on the face.

Dealing with less-than-perfect skin can be difficult. I know that I’ve struggled with it for around 7 or 8 years. I had acne as a teenager, as many of us do, but it stayed with me. I thought I’d wake up on my 16th or 18th birthday and suddenly my skin would be clear. Sadly, that’s not how it works. It has calmed a lot over the years and has been loads better in recent years but it’s still given me trouble. The odd spot every couple of days and a breakout if it decided I’d been unkind to it. It’s not been too fun. But recently, Viridian Nutrition asked me if I’d like to try their Scandinavian Rainbow Trout Oil* alongside their Ultimate Beauty Complex* (which I’d already tried and reviewed). Since the Ultimate Beauty Complex had worked quite well for me, I figured it was worth a shot.
After taking them both for 30 days, I’m back with my thoughts and findings…
Finding a good moisturiser that works can be tricky, especially if you don’t know what’s best for your skin type. I know that I’ve struggled in the past, a lot of moisturisers are either not moisturising enough or they make my face really oily. Not cute. So, when I came across the Pure Potions Skin Salvation Daily Moisturising Cream* at the #PLBSantasGrotto event, I wasn’t sure how it was going to go.
The claims and ingredients of this moisturiser are fantastic. Organic ingredients, no artificial colours or perfumes, paraben free, vegan and full of natural butters, oils and extracts to moisturise the skin. Sounds amazing! It also claims to be suitable for all skin types, including those with eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis.
It can be used on any part of the body, so I decided to test it as a night-time facial moisturiser.
So how did it perform on my oily skin type?
A new month means a new Cohorted box! It’s one of the best subscription boxes around, in my opinion. It allows you to try loads of full-sized mid to high end products without splashing too much cash. Which is an absolute must for me, being a student and all. You can check out last month’s box (linked here) to get a good feel for it. Last month’s was so packed with products, I couldn’t wait to see how they followed that up!
The Black Edition Beauty Box from Cohorted is £35 per month and contains 4-5 full sized high-end and luxury beauty products, with the occasional extra sample thrown in for good measure. They feature brands such as Cargo, Too Faced, bareMinerals and Nars to name a few, and the value always far outweighs the cost of the box. I’m never disappointed. You can find more information or subscribe here.
On to the contents…
This weekend, I headed to London with my girl Emma from Dino’s Beauty Diary and that could mean only one thing. Lush Oxford Street. It’s an absolute must for us, as two lush junkies, whenever we’re in the capital. It’s been a while since my last Oxford St. Haul and with all the cute Easter products out, what better time to top up my collection?
There’ a colour colour scheme in the items I picked up, I just couldn’t resist all the bright, happy colours. I guess I’m already in a spring time mood! Some of the items I picked up are Oxford St. exclusives, so I’m super sorry if you can’t get your hands on something you see here. Let’s take a look at all the goodies!
