October has been such a busy, busy month for me! With university being in full swing, the wonderful event I got attend and visiting home for my birthday halfway through the month, I’ve hardly had a chance to sit down and catch my breath! Luckily, I had plenty of time to try out lots of beauty products and bring you my best of the best for the month.
I’ve found some real staple products that are great for an everyday look, but they can also be glammed up for a more dramatic look. I’ve also discovered a few body products that I absolutely love!
I’m super lazy, I hate washing my make up brushes, Then again, it’s necessary so that they’re clean and colours don’t muddle together. Like I said, I’m lazy, so I opted to buy an extra set of eye brushes to prolong the time between washes. Sneaky. I decided to treat myself to the 7 piece Eye Brush Set from Nanshy. I’ve used their Blending Sponge before, so I know and trust the quality of the brand.
All of Nanshy’s brushes are completely synthetic, making them vegan friendly and completely cruelty free. I prefer synthetic brushes anyway because they work well with cream and liquid products as well as powder. Not to mention they’re easier to clean when the time does come.
This kit in particular is available with either white or black handles (both look really chic and gorgeous) and costs £29.95. That works out at just over £4 per brush, which is a bargain compared to a lot of other brush brands.
So how do they perform? Continue reading
I am super late to matte liquid lipstick bandwagon. I have no idea why. I always thought they looked awesome and I was super up for trying them. I guess I just never got round to buying one. Until recently. For my birthday, I was kindly given an M&S gift card. So, naturally I ran straight for the beauty section to see what delights I could find. That’s when I realised now was my chance. I was finally going to own a matte liquid lipstick. I’d heard good things about the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks, so opted for one of those, which are £15.
After countless swatches and much deliberation, I decided on the shade Bellissima. It’s a light corally peach that I’d consider a day-to-day shade. I thought that for my first matte liquid lipstick, I wanted to choose a shade that I’d get a lot of use out of.
We’ve all been there. For some reason or another, you don’t have a Halloween costume. Or you don’t want one. Maybe you were invited to the party at the last minute, maybe you can’t wear a costume because of your job, maybe you don’t want to waste money on a costume or fancy make up just for one day. Luckily, I have a quick, easy Halloween make up tutorial using only three products – and you probably already own one or two!
If you want to achieve this easy peasy, daytime appropriate Halloween look, keep reading…
It’s that time of year again! The time of year when Lush releases a ton of festive themed goodies and all the money magically disappears out of my bank account. It’s not my fault I buy so much of it, it’s science. Statistically speaking, something smells better if it’s in the shape of a pumpkin or a little Santa, you can’t argue with that.
As you can see, I gave in. I gave in hard. And I’m so excited! I love Lush year round (see proof here and here). Honestly, I could happily do away with the most of the permanent Lush line and replace it with the festive stuff. Is it just me who enjoys it a million times more? Perhaps it has something to do with it getting me in the festive frame of mind. Who knows.
Let’s get to the good stuff…
I know I did a tag really recently (The Sweater Weather Tag, it was rather good, you should check it out), but I’ve been a bit busy the last couple of weeks and I haven’t had time to prepare any other posts. I’m really sorry. That doesn’t mean that tags are any better or worse than other posts, though. I personally enjoy reading them.
The ever-lovely Lainey from Lainey Loves Life nominated me for the Sunshine Blogger Award, you should go and read her blog, she’s so inspirational and it’s visually stunning. She has a real variety of beauty, health, lifestyle, food, motherhood and pretty much anything else you can think of. There are no ends to her talents! It’s a happy tag / award, a chance to spread a bit of sunshine.
You may remember a month or so ago, I received a hand cream from a brand called Sniffy Wiffy in my September Blogger Beauty Box. I instantly loved it and couldn’t wait to place an order. I knew I wanted to feature them in October, as it’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month and they do a lot to help promote self-examination as well as donating to various charities.
All of their products are made with minimal ingredients (5 or less) and are all hand-made to order. They have over 20 scents to choose from ranging from Lavender to Clementine Jelly even to Guiness! There’s a scent to suit everyone, you can even go fragrance-free if you’re sensitive to that sort of thing. I ordered a variety of products all in different scents to try out.
