I don’t know if it’s because I’m back uni now and I’m busier or what, but September seems to have gone by in a flash. Like, so quickly. I barely had time to fall in love with any products! Luckily, there are some products that became real staples for me. I found myself reaching for these time and time again!
A lot of things I chose were my no-brainer items, for the days when I didn’t want to have to think too hard about what I was going to do. They’ve made my life so much easier on early mornings and saved me from looking like a zombie. If you want to see what I chose, keep reading …
Once upon a time, I was somewhat in shape. I had eight hours of dance class a week. I was flexible, I had something that could pass as muscle. I was generally fit. I could move for long periods of time without getting out of breath, imagine that! Alas, it didn’t last and I found myself becoming a couch potato. I was no longer fit, I’d lost what little muscle I had and was constantly out of breath.
Recently, I decided to get myself in gear and make some adjustments in an effort to get healthier. For me, this had nothing to do with weight. It was about wanting to feel strong and wanting to have more energy and just generally feeling better day to day.
To find out what exercises and foods helped me, read on…
Since I dyed my hair fairly recently, I’ve been looking for products to help reverse the damage and make it look healthy. I’ve had some luck with some other products, but I’m always open to trying something new and I’m still on the hunt for a hair mask!
I was recently given the opportunity to trial the Nanokeratin System for colour treated hair. When it was mentioned that it would include the mask, I had to stop myself from being too eager. My poor ends were just so in need of that deep-conditioning loving.
I used only these products for a week, no additional conditioners, dry shampoos or serums to see what effect it would have on my hair.
Let’s see how it did…
I wanted to talk about something a little different today. Well, different for me anyway. I’m normally only post about beauty products, but I wanted to share a product, well technically a range of products, that I’ve been using and loving for about two years. And that products is… Magik Beanz!
Magik Beans are highly-scented, little bean shaped wax melts from Busy Bees, a British candle company. They’re highly fragranced, meaning you only need to use 2-3 at a time, so a tub of 15 lasts a looooong time. They’re such a bargain at only £1.89 a tub too! Did I mention they come in over 100 scents?! I know that can seem a little overwhelming, so I’m going to give you a run down of my top 5.
For me, there’s nothing more exciting and convenient in the makeup world than a beautiful eyeshadow palette. So when I saw that theBalm’s Nude ‘Tude palette was included in the most recent Cohorted Beauty Box, I was over the moon. It’s just so much easier to have all the colours you need for your look in one place. I’ve had it for a little while now and I’ve used only this palette with no other shadows so that I could form a solid opinion of it.
Firstly, this packaging is beautiful. Sleek, elegant and thin, it’s easy to store and looks pretty. It’s made of a sturdy cardboard, with a magnetic closure so it doesn’t fly open and smash when you travel, which is always a bonus. Open it up and you’re greeted by 6 gorgeous pin-up girls, their modesty covered only by 12 beautiful neutral shadows! I’m slightly nervous of hitting pan in case I sneak a peek of something I shouldn’t! I love this design, it’s so fun and it’s nice to see something different and a little cheeky for a change.
Let’s take a look at the shades…
It’s no secret that I’m a great lover of nail varnish. I love discovering new shades and brands to paint fingers with, it’s becoming something of an addiction! At the Bloggers Love Fashion Week event, I was introduced to True Brit London, a new, British, luxury brand of nail enamel. I was happy to learn that this product is 100% cruelty free and I was absolutely won over by the two lovely representatives I spoke to at the event, they were delightful!
The packaging is absolutely stunning. It’s weighty and opulent, you really get a sense that this is a luxurious, high quality product. I think that the packaging of these polishes means that they will make exquisite gifts. It’s one of those bottles you want to have sitting out on your desk to admire from to time.
I was gifted the Caviar Base Coat* and the shade Shoreditch*. I was eager to see how they looked and performed. Let’s see how they did…
I’m an absolute sucker for a beauty box. I love the mystery, I love the surprise and I love discovering brands I might not have tried or even heard of otherwise. When I heard about the Blogger Beauty Box, I signed up immediately! For only £10, including p&p, you receive 4-5 full sized products! That’s unheard of! Usually, a box that cheap contains sample sizes and 1-2 full sized products if you’re lucky. It’s not a subscription service right now, each month you have to order the box.
The box was delayed a few days, due to a brand pulling out, but Vicky, who runs the service, was excellent in keeping us all in the know and getting it sorted as quickly as possible. She’s amazing!
Let’s see what was included in September’s box…
